What is Scratch?
Scratch is a graphical programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web. A key design goal of Scratch is to support self-directed learning through tinkering and collaboration with peers.
How did Scratch come about?
It was developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab.

Where to start?
Scratch is free to download at http://scratch.mit.edu/. It is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. A web based version is also now available. Just create an account and away you go.
